In a big move for India’s electric vehicle (EV) future, Tesla has all set to officially launched its first charging station in India.
The location is in the heart of the City, it is the famous Bandra Kurla Complex.
Charging station will be inaugurated on August 4, 2025 and is designed to support both fast charging and regular charging needs.
What’s at the Tesla Charging Station?
Tesla’s new setup at BKC includes two types of chargers (more details shall be updated once the site is operationalised):
4 Supercharger Stalls (V4)
- Type: DC Fast Chargers
- Speed: Up to 250 kW output
- Charging Rate: ₹24 per kWh
- What That Means: You can add 267 km of range in just 15 minutes that’s enough for 5 round trips between Mumbai Airport and Gateway of India.
4 Destination Charging Stalls
- Type: AC Chargers
- Speed: 11 kW output
- Charging Rate: ₹14 per kWh
- Ideal for slower, overnight charging sessions at hotels, offices, or shopping centres.
Bonus for Tesla Owners – Free Home Charging Setup
Tesla also announced that anyone who buys a new Tesla car in India will get a free home charging wall connector, installed right at their home. This is a big benefit for convenience and daily use.
Tesla Model Y Now Available in India
In July 2025, Tesla announce registrations for Model Y in India, the car is available in two variants:
- Model Y RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) – ₹59.89 lakh
- Model Y Long Range RWD – ₹67.89 lakh

Tesla’s first Experience Centre was also launched in Maker Maxity Commercial Complex, which is in the same BKC area.
Tesla’s Bigger Plan for India
With this charging station, Tesla is just marking the first of eight Supercharging stations planned across India. Tesla wants to create a solid network to support its vehicles and make long-distance EV travel easy in the India.
These Supercharger stations are being built to ensure that Tesla users can confidently travel across cities, without worrying about finding a charging spot.
