PM Modi Inaugurates UER-II & Dwarka Expressway

The capital city of India has just received one of its biggest expressway infrastructure boosts!

On 17th August 2025, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated two long awaited mega road projects that is the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway.

This is built at a combined cost of nearly ₹11,000 crore, these corridors promise to cut congestion, improve Delhi-NCR connectivity and reduce the travel time between Noida and IGI Airport to just 20 minutes.

Why This Inauguration Matters for Delhi-NCR

Delhi’s traffic congestion has always been a nightmare — especially on stretches like Dhaula Kuan, Mukarba Chowk, and the Ring Road. The commuters at new expressways can now bypass choke points and enjoy signal-free travel.

Apart from time savings, these projects helps in saving fuel, faster cargo movement and seamless connectivity across seven NCR cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh and Noida.

  • Lanes: Six-lane access-controlled corridor with service lanes

UER-II is being called Delhi’s new outer ring road, giving long-awaited relief to inner-city traffic.

  • Length: 29 km Delhi stretch (part of 46 km total)

  • Key Section: Shiv Murti (Mahipalpur) to Kherki Daula toll plaza
