The wait is over — Ola S1 Pro Sport is here!

Ola S1 Pro Sport Launched at ₹1.49 Lakh | 320 Km Range, 152 Km/h Speed & ADAS

When Ola Electric announced they were unveiling something “sporty” on Independence Day, I was curious. Being an auto enthusiast who drives a Tata Harrier XTA+ for family trips and rides a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for my weekend getaways, I’ve always kept a close watch on India’s EV story. But to be honest, scooters never really excited me a lot.

That changed when I saw the Ola S1 Pro Sport make its debut at the Sankalp 2025 event. This isn’t just another scooter launch — it feels like Ola is trying to redefine what a scooter can be in India.

Launch, Price, and Availability

The Ola S1 Pro Sport is priced at an introductory ₹1,49,999 (ex-showroom). Reservations are already open for just ₹999, and deliveries will kick off in January 2026. Ola’s pricing strategy here is interesting. Despite packing sportier features, the Ola S1 Pro Sport is cheaper than the S1 Pro+ (₹1,69,999), making it one of the most value-for-money performance EVs in the country.

For customers waiting for a true performance scooter that doesn’t break the bank, this is a game-changer.

First Impressions: Sporty Design

Ola S1 Pro Sport has been designed with performance in mind. A quick glance reveals sharper lines and aerodynamic touches. The highlights include:

  • Compact windscreen for better aerodynamics
  • Carbon fibre front fender and grab rail
  • Redesigned scooped seat with revised foam for comfort
  • All-LED lighting setup with a new DRL signature

Sitting on the scooter, the 791 mm seat height felt accessible for both short and tall riders. And the 34-litre under-seat storage is a massive plus — easily big enough to fit a full-face helmet. For city commuters and even tourers, this adds real practicality.

Made-in-India 13 kW Ferrite Motor

At the heart of the Ola S1 Pro Sport lies Ola’s indigenous 13 kW ferrite motor, built without rare-earth magnets. This is a big deal because it reduces dependency on global supply chains and shows Ola’s commitment to the “India Inside” philosophy.

Performance numbers are impressive:

  • 13 kW continuous output
  • 16 kW peak output
  • 71 Nm torque
  • 0–40 km/h in just 2 seconds
  • Top speed: 152 km/h

For context, that’s faster than most 200cc petrol scooters in India. Riding it on Ola’s test track, the instant torque almost pulled me back — the kind of thrill I usually expect from bikes, not scooters.

Battery and Range: 320 km on a Single Charge

The scooter is powered by a 5.2 kWh battery pack with Ola’s new 4680 Bharat Cells, the same advanced lithium-ion cell tech used by global EV leaders.

Ola claims an IDC range of 320 km on a full charge. Real-world numbers will likely be around 250–270 km, which is still excellent for city commutes and even short weekend getaways. Charging is backed by smart tech — predictive maintenance alerts, smart charging, and detailed battery health analytics through the MoveOS 6 interface. For EV buyers, this brings reassurance about long-term reliability.

ADAS and Tech Features: First 2-Wheeler in India with ADAS

This is where Ola has made history. The Ola S1 Pro Sport becomes India’s first electric scooter with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The ADAS suite includes:

  • Collision warnings
  • Blind spot alerts
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Speeding alerts

Adding to this, the front-mounted camera acts as a dashcam. It records rides, logs theft attempts, and can even be used to vlog your journeys — something urban riders and content creators will absolutely love.

The tech list doesn’t stop here. Ola’s MoveOS 6 adds:

  • Voice assistant
  • Customisable display themes
  • Ride analytics
  • Smart charging
  • Predictive maintenance alerts
  • Personalised ride moods

In simple terms, Ola has turned a scooter into a smartphone on wheels.

Ride and Handling

Scooters are often criticized for being too soft in handling, but Ola seems to have fixed that. The Ola S1 Pro Sport uses:

  • Telescopic front fork
  • Preload-adjustable rear monoshock
  • Disc brakes on both wheels
  • 14-inch alloy wheels with wide-profile tyres

On my test ride, this setup gave much better confidence while cornering and braking compared to traditional scooters. The suspension tuning makes it sportier, while still comfortable enough for everyday riding.

Price Revisions for Other Ola Models

Along with the Ola S1 Pro Sport, Ola also updated pricing for its other EVs equipped with Bharat Cells:

  • Ola S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) – ₹1,69,999
  • Ola Roadster X+ (9.1 kWh) – ₹1,89,999

Both models are available with a ₹10,000 discount until August 17, 2025, and deliveries will start around Navratri 2025. This shows Ola is creating a layered product strategy with the Sport variant appealing to enthusiasts with Pro+ and Roadster X+ cater to premium urban buyers.

Ola’s Future Vision – Beyond Scooters

At the Sankalp 2025 event, Ola revealed much more than just the S1 Pro Sport:

  • Diamondhead Motorcycle (Moonshot Project) – a futuristic superbike with aerospace composites, hub-centred steering, AR-based rider interaction, and 0–100 km/h in just 2 seconds.
  • Target launch: 2027 under ₹5 lakh.
  • MoveOS 6 – India’s first AI-powered EV operating system with 25+ new features.
  • Gen 4 Modular Platform – scalable EV platform to power 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, drones, and even humanoids.
  • Ferrite Motor – indigenous, rare-earth-free motor for independence from global supply chains.

Clearly, Ola isn’t just thinking about scooters. They’re building an entire EV ecosystem with India-made technology at its core.

Why Ola S1 Pro Sport Matters

For decades, Indian scooters have been about mileage and affordability. Ola is rewriting the script by making scooters aspirational.

  • For commuters: The 320 km range and smart charging make it practical for daily use.
  • For enthusiasts: 152 km/h top speed, 0–40 in 2 seconds, and ADAS make it exciting.
  • For India: It represents a bold step towards tech independence and EV leadership.

As someone who loves both comfort (in my Harrier) and adventure (on my Himalayan), I never thought a scooter could blend performance, practicality, and tech so well. After riding the S1 Pro Sport, I walked away thinking: If scooters had been like this earlier, maybe I would have owned one long back.

Conclusion

The Ola S1 Pro Sport isn’t just another EV launch. It’s Ola’s statement that India can build performance-oriented, tech-driven electric vehicles that rival global standards.

At an aggressive price of ₹1.49 lakh, with deliveries beginning in January 2026, it might just be the scooter that changes how Indians view electric mobility. The big question is — will it deliver on Indian roads, day after day, in real-world conditions? If yes, Ola may have just built the first electric scooter that even bikers will take seriously.
